Shakespeare, Marlowe, Johnson, and Shaw are just a few of the great playwrights of Classical Theatre. Their words are some of the most stunning examples of the English language. Acting their immortal works, however, requires a great deal more than just pronouncing the lines correctly. Knowing their deeper meanings, the subtext that drives the characters for whom they were written, and a solid understanding of their plays. This class will offer students an opportunity to bring classical scenes and monologues to life using skills that will last a lifetime. A final showcase opportunity will be offered. Class begins September 10th for twelve weeks.
