Early Elementary Performs: Express Yourself!

Age: 5 to 8 years

Sing, Move, Create, and Act!

Elementary children will enjoy the thrill of putting together a musical from beginning to end. They will be challenged in the areas of drama, singing, choreography/movement, and creating props and backdrops. They will learn the value of friendship and working as a team. Two performances will be performed in this 26 week year; one at the end of the first 12 weeks, and the other at the final week. The performances will be presented to parents and guests of the children, with a celebration to follow. Class begins September 9 for 26 weeks.

Introduction to Musical Theatre

Age: 9 to 12 years

Older elementary and middle school children will have a wonderful opportunity to work together and perform a musical! The students will be introduced to the musical theatre world by focusing on characterization, singing, choreography/movement, and creating the necessary props and scenery for the shows. Two performances will be performed in this 26 week year; one at the end of the first 12 weeks, and the other at the final week. The performances will be presented to parents and guests of the children, with a reception to follow. Begins September 5 for 26 weeks.

Backstage Theatre Class

Age: 13 to 18 years

High school students will have an opportunity to learn about the backstage art of the theatre world by creating scenery, props, costumes, and any other needs for two select musicals. The two musicals will be performed by the Introduction to Music Theatre class, which have a performance at the end of the first semester in December and at the end of the second semester in March. Class begins September 4 for 26 weeks.
