Registration deadline for all classes is two weeks prior to the start of the class. 

Minimum enrollment must be met two weeks prior to the class start date.

Summer Dance


DRESS CODE FOR SUMMER DANCE CLASSES:

For all classes, students may wear dance apparel or clothes that allow for ease of movement. No loose shorts unless tights or bike shorts are worn underneath.   

Footwear is specified for each class.

Introduction to Pre-Ballet

Age: 3 to 6 years 

In this five-day session, students will be introduced to the world of creative movement and the fundamentals of ballet. Lessons focus on gross motor skills, musicality, and creativity as children explore their natural abilities for movement and dance. No previous training is required. Ballet slippers, bare feet, or socks may be worn.

Tuition: $45

Introduction to Pre-Ballet

Age: 3 to 6 years

In this five-day session, students will be introduced to five different styles of dance! Students will have the opportunity to try ballet, jazz, contemporary, musical theater dance, and tap. Each day’s class will highlight a different style of dance. This program is structured for students to try different styles of movement to see which one is right for them. No previous training is required. Ballet slippers, bare feet, or socks may be worn. Please bring sneakers, and other dance shoes if you have them.

Introduction to Dance Styles

Age: 9 to 12 years

In this five-day session, students will be introduced to five different styles of dance! Working at the pace of the students, this session offers the opportunity to try ballet, jazz, modern/contemporary, musical theater dance, and tap. Each day’s class will highlight a different style of dance. This allows students to try many different kinds of movement to see which one is right for them. No previous training is required. Ballet slippers, bare feet, or socks may be worn. Please bring sneakers, and other dance shoes if you have them.

Dance, Choreograph, Perform

Age: 6 to 9 years 

In this five-day session, students will be given a technique class followed by the chance to create their own, student-led choreographed dance! Each day, the teacher will highlight a different genre of movement for the technique class. Genres include ballet, contemporary/modern, jazz, musical theater dance, and tap.  For the second half of each day’s session, students will learn the basics of choreography and composition, working together with their classmates to create a short dance. A small presentation will be held on the last day to showcase their work. Please bring sneakers, and other dance shoes if you have them. If not, bare feet or socks may be worn.

Lyrical

Age: 9 to 11 years

Lyrical dance combines elements of Ballet, Contemporary, and Jazz dance. The five-day session for this age group introduces elements of Lyrical dance style and expands dance vocabularies. Performed to soulful popular music, each class include a warm-up and expressive combinations. Bare feet or “dance paws” may be worn.

Lyrical

Age: 12 and up

Lyrical dance combines elements of Ballet, Contemporary, and Jazz dance. Performed to soulful popular music, these classes include a warm-up and long, expressive combinations. Students wear footless or convertible tights and a leotard. Bare feet or “dance paws” may be worn.

Ballet and Variations

Age: 12 and up

This five-day course is devoted to the discipline and inherent beauty of daily ballet classes. During the second half of each class, students will work on classical Variations, furthering their technical skills while enhancing their artistry. Ballet slippers are required, Pointe shoes are optional.

Ballet Technique

Age: intermediate-advanced dancers age 13 years and up

These 90-minute single sessions are designed for dancers who want to concentrate on technique. These classes offer focused,  individualized technical instruction with emphasis on turns, jumps, and overall placement. Offered to intermediate-advanced dancers.

Please register no later than *seven days prior to each class date. Register for one class or several classes at a time. Sorry, no exchanging of dates within seven days of class. Summer classes are non-refundable. 

*If the minimum number of students is met prior to seven days before the class date, then students are welcome to register up to the class date.

Introduction to Musical Theatre Dance

Age: 9 to 12 years 

This class provides an introduction to some of the dance techniques and skills used in Musical Theatre. Throughout this five-day course, students will be building their confidence along with their dance skills as they learn fun combinations choreographed to music from Broadway shows. Dance shoes, bare feet, or socks may be worn.

Musical Theatre Dance

Age: 13 and up 

Kick off your summer in high spirits with some upbeat dances choreographed to music from Broadway shows. These classes begin with a warm-up before plunging into group dances suitable for multiple levels of experience. Dance shoes, bare feet, or socks may be worn.

Junior Dance Workshop

Age: 9 to 12 years

In this five-day session, you will participate in three different technique classes each day; a hour and a half each of Ballet, Contemporary, and Jazz dance. Students will work on mastering their placement and technique. Dance shoes, bare feet, or socks may be worn.

Senior Dance Workshop: Master Series

Age: 13 and up

In this five-day session, your student will partake each morning in two and a half hour technique classes. These classes will feature either ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, stretching/strengthening, or yoga/pilates. Each afternoon the student will then take part in an hour and half masterclass that will feature a different performer, choreographer, or dancer from the area that will focus on a different genre of dance. This program is not just designed for the dancer to work on his/her technique, but also work with different artists helping to grow and push the student as a dancer and performer. Dance shoes are preferred.
