Art Start Summer

Art Start Summer for ages 3.5 to 6 years

What is music? Rhythmic patterns? Tempos and beats strategically played to create a masterpiece? Each day students will look at composers and the instruments they used to create their music. They will use their body to create music and learn how different instruments work and use that knowledge to create our own musical instruments. Children will be able to identify different musical instruments not only by sight but by sound. Have your child join us on this musical exploration!

Art Start Summer for ages 7 to 9 years

Composers Bach, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky, created amazing musical compositions. Thankfully, because of the skilled musicians who recorded their works, we can still hear these composers’ masterpieces as they were intended to be heard. But who are these musicians, and what makes the music they play so amazing? Each day, students will focus on a specific instrumental family. They will be given the opportunity to hear the difference between instruments, learn about the mechanics behind each instrumental family, and apply this to creating their own instrument. This program will give your student a greater understanding and appreciation for the music that they hear and the instruments that work together to create these sounds.
