For ages 9 months through 12 years, there is something fun for you! This category is for little ones to explore music, movement and creativity through musical adventures and for older children to act, dance, create and sing their hearts out!

Registration deadline for all classes is two weeks prior to the start of the class. 

Minimum enrollment must be met two weeks prior to the class start date.

Discovery in Motion

Age: 9 to 12 years 

Shenandoah Conservatory Arts Academy (SCAA) and the Shenandoah Valley Discovery Museum (SVDM) education team are joining forces to offer you a full week of camp that blends art, science, dance, music, and theatre. Students will explore singing, dancing, acting, art, and instruments – as well as the science behind the creative process. The week will culminate in a showcase for families at the Discovery Museum. Brown bag lunch required.

Spotlight on the Arts

Age: 5 – 8 years

Does your child like to sing, dance, act, and create? This half day program gives your child the opportunity to find the performer within them, by exploring dance, singing, and creating multiple art projects. The week will end with an in-house presentation on the last day.

Barnyard Boogie

Class is full; waitlist is available

Age: 9 months to 2 years

Come kick off your boots, jump the fence, and join us for a fun trip to the Farm, music style. Sing hello to the barnyard during this hour-long sunshine celebration featuring songs, instrument play, creative arts stations, and much much more! This is a perfect class for your little one and a great introduction to the Arts Academy’s Early Childhood Program. Caregiver participation is required.

Camping at Ducky’s Pond

Class is full; waitlist is available

Age: 3 to 4 years

Let’s sing, dance, croak, and quack around the campfire with Ducky and all his pond friends. Your child will explore the pond and all its creatures through songs, movement, instrumental play, crafts, and stories on this musical campout. Pitch your tent, grab your fishing pole, and let’s go to Ducky’s pond!

Early Elementary Performs “Farmer McDonald’s”

Age: 5 to 8 years

Farmer McDonald’s whole barnyard is singing away! Every animal has a special part- except something is wrong with Mr. Cow…he can’t moo. Come join the fun as everyone becomes a part of Farmer McDonald’s farm- and together- we save the day. This musical is sure to be a hit- every child will have the opportunity to be multiple characters in our play- and we’ll sing, create backdrops, props, and costumes, and have a special snack during our mornings at the Barnyard. We will end the week with a ½ hour performance for families of our musical, Eiei-Oops!

Traveling Tots

Age: 9 mo to 2 years

Take your little one around the world in just five days. Your toddler will explore different countries around the world through singing, dancing, musical instruments, and creative play. Just imagine all the fun you will have with your little one while meeting new friends. So mark your calendars, tell your friends, and prepare to travel the world while bonding with your little one like never before. Caregiver participation is required.

Musical Explorers

Class is full; waitlist is available

Age: 3 to 4 years

Get ready, set, let’s go explore the world. Through song, dance, stories, and crafts your child will travel the world, explore lands near and far. The children will also explore creative art stations in which your child will immerse themselves in activities centered around the world we live in. Passports will be stamped, and memories will be made.

Music Around the World

Class is full; waitlist is available

Age: 5 to 8 years

Imagine traveling to five different countries in just five days. Your child will get the opportunity to explore different cultures through, music, dance, stories, crafts, and food. Creativity and imagination will be encouraged for this exploration in order to understand how people in other parts of the world live and interact. Children will use the basics of music theory to grow and foster their musical abilities.
