 Intro to Guitar  – Class begins January 27, 2017

 Age: 7 to 11 years

Interested in playing guitar? This introductory five-week class will introduce basic playing technique and music reading. This is a great way to begin learning the instrument prior to signing up for private lessons. Bring an acoustic guitar and a pick.

 Group Piano I – Class begins January 28, 2017

Age: 6 to 10 years

Group piano teaches the keyboard fundamentals of rhythm, note reading, and theory in a friendly setting. Access to a keyboard or piano is required. Class begins January 28, 2017 for 14 weeks.

Age: 6 to 10 years

Blue Ridge Choristers

Blue Ridge Choristers is for children interested in sharing music with others in a focused but fun setting. Singers nuture their individual voices as they sing with the choir. With a varied repertoire, students will experience performance artistry, vocal technique, and musical learning. Performances occur throughout the year. Rolling registration. Top of Virginia Youth Chorale

The Top of Virginia Youth Chorale is for highly motivated singers desiring a challenging and artistically fulfilling choral experience. Vocal performance is nurtured both individually and as a choir, while singing a variety of choral literature. Performances occur throughout the year. Rolling registration. Shenandoah Valley Youth Orchestra

The SVYO is a multifaceted instructional and performance program for young string players, which includes two orchestras (listed below) and a variety of chamber music groups. SVYO requires a commitment of time and effort beyond private string study on the part of the student. Concerts occur three times a year. Auditions will be held September 9 & 10. Rehearsals begin September 19 through early-May 2017. Please contact the SCAA office for audition information.
